Hm... not quite sure what to write about.
I finished watching "Your Interview with the President" video today. Thought was very inadequate in terms of answering the public's questions. The way the video was run seemed more of a publicity event for the president rather than answering the questions posed with some substance. Then again how would you treat something like the problem child that is America? There's so many different voices screaming all at once; some demands directly conflict with each other and the president is juggling all of them. They say to be an effective worker, you have to compartmentalize your duties and focus on one task at a time. While that may be true, I don't think it applies to a Presidency. I understand that it may seem like the president is not doing what he set out to do but to change the track of a country as large as America is a daunting task and change comes neither quickly or easily. Moreover, some groups may have to suffer at the hand of change, which is especially true in a country where there is a freedom of expression and assembly.
What we lack as a nation is patience. As a culture what we value is immediate results. We expect the answers to come easily, for the solutions to come quickly, but we all should know that solutions take time. Just because someone takes office DOES NOT mean you will magically become employed. Just because someone takes office DOES NOT mean you will be taken out of poverty. Just because someone takes office DOES NOT mean the war will be over.
But I digress.
Yuck. That's the longest politic rant I've gone on in a while. I feel kinda dirty making this my first post.
But whatever. Tomorrow's a new day :D
